Winston Countians have proven over and over that they are ready to serve their fellow citizens. Whether it be tornadoes that affect multiple families across the county, flash flooding, or personal loss such as a devastating house fire or severe illness - the people of Winston County will come out and serve each other.
However, it shouldn’t take a horrific loss or a health scare to prompt us to want to serve others around us. Serve Out Loud Winston County is scheduled for June 2 - 4. This is intended to give volunteers an opportunity to simply “love on others” while sharing The Gospel.
Each morning, volunteers will meet at the Louisville Parks and Recreation Building at 8:15 AM (the Parks and Rec Building is located at 405 Ivy Avenue, just past the Louisville Coliseum and Louisville High School). After a light breakfast and prayer, you may check out the sign-up tables to see what ministry opportunities are available for the day. Most projects are anticipated to be completed by noon each day; however, there may be more time required for certain projects.
There will be a worship and devotion session each morning prior to breaking to go into the community.
A wrap-up Celebration Service event will take place on Wednesday at 6:30 PM; this will take place at the Parks and Rec Building.
Some of the activities include:
Drive-Thru Prayer
Random Acts of Kindness
Prayer Cards/Thank You Cards for Military, First Responders, and Missionaries
Nursing Home Ministry
Prayer Walk at Apartment Complexes/Schools
Painting Projects
Ramp Projects
Outdoor Cleanup (including Pressure Washing Homes)
Miscellaneous Sports Camps
Beds for Children
There is a list of supplies, which will be posted here on The Refuge Online. Those who wish to help may donate from the list, or they may make a monetary donation to Serve Out Loud.
You may check out Serve Out Loud - Winston County on Facebook for updates, or you may call the Winston Baptist Association at 662-773-3366. This will be a great opportunity to serve our fellow citizens!
