Noxapater claims victory over Nanih Waiya in baseball matchup

Noxapater Varsity Tigers took down Nanih Waiya Varsity Warriors 5-1 on Friday.
Noxapater Varsity Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Logan Sanborn grounded out, and Braxton Daugherty singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Sanborn earned the win for Noxapater Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking four. Brooks Adcock took the loss for Nanih Waiya Varsity Warriors. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking three. Hayes Rushing appeared in relief for Noxapater Varsity Tigers.
Daugherty provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Noxapater Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-3 on the day. Noxapater Varsity Tigers's Trent Roark, the number nine hitter, led Noxapater Varsity Tigers with two hits in three at bats. Luke Reynolds and Bryton Yates each stole multiple bases for Noxapater Varsity Tigers. Noxapater Varsity Tigers stole seven bases in the game. Noxapater Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game.
Briceton Boler led the team with one run batted in. Kade Massey led Nanih Waiya Varsity Warriors with one hit in three at bats. Caden McDaniel paced Nanih Waiya Varsity Warriors with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.
Noxapater Varsity Tigers will travel to Ethel for their next game on Tuesday. The Warriors host the Choctaw County Chargers tomorrow, April 5th, at 1pm.
