Lady Warriors Walk It Off Against Southeast Lauderdale

Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors took Friday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 4-3 walk-off victory over Southeast Lauderdale. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Bria Gregory singled, scoring one run.


An error put Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors on the board in the bottom of the second.


Mary Grace Hall hit into a fielder's choice, which helped Southeast Lauderdale tie the game at one in the top of the fifth.


An error gave Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fifth.


In the top of the sixth inning, Southeast Lauderdale went back into the lead after Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors committed an error, and Hall singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.


Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors took the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning after Jade Chandler doubled down the right field line, and Gregory singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.


Adalynn Snow began the game for Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors. The starter surrendered seven hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Allie Carney stepped in the circle first for Southeast Lauderdale. The starter allowed five hits and four runs (zero earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three.


Gregory and Chandler were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors. Addison Price, Gregory, Venessa Fulton, Chandler, and Anna Grace Rigdon each collected one hit for Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors. Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors turned one double play in the game.


Hall led Southeast Lauderdale with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Carney, Hall, Adrianna Stephens, Izzi King, Taylor Shannon, Harper Simmons, and Karly Hollingsworth each collected one hit for Southeast Lauderdale.


Nanih Waiya Varsity Lady Warriors play at home on Tuesday against Ethel in their next game.
