Fatal Medical Helicopter Crash

March 10, 2025 will be a day many of us will not soon forget. Three heros were fatally injured in a helicopter crash northeast of Madison, MS. Dustin Pope, 35, of Philadelphia, Jakob Kindt, 37, of Tupelo, and Cal Wesolowski, 62, of Starkville were those who perished. No patients were on board.

According to the AP, federal authorities said, Wesolowski reported a "flight control problem" before the crash on Monday.

The response on social media has been felt as these three men were loved by each of their communities.

A fellow church member and friend said of Pope on Facebook, "In the hours after hearing the news, I’m still in disbelief. The last few years we have had the privilege of being church family with Dustin and his family. In getting to know Dustin Pope I found him to be one of the most genuine people I ever met. He loved his family and he loved the lord. He had a love for life and a way of making people smile and laugh. I consider it an honor to call him a friend the past few years. Keep his family in your prayers as they face an immeasurable loss."

Our prayers are with each of the families.
