TVA Investment Supports STEM Education at Winston-Louisville Career Technology Center

LOUISVILLE, Miss. — The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has secured additional funding to support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs at the Winston-Louisville Career Technology Center (WLCTC), providing new opportunities for local students to explore careers in high-demand technical fields.

WLCTC is one of 339 educational institutions selected to receive the award through TVA’s partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc., a TVA retiree organization dedicated to advancing STEM education and encouraging student interest in STEM-related careers.

To celebrate the investment, TVA representatives will host a check presentation ceremony on Tuesday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at WLCTC, located at 204 Ivy Avenue on the Louisville High School campus in Louisville.

Local leaders, educators, and community members have been invited to attend the event, meet program leaders, and participate in a group photo opportunity with TVA representatives.

“This investment represents another step forward in preparing our students for the workforce of tomorrow,” organizers said. “Partnerships like this help ensure students in Winston County have access to the resources and hands-on learning experiences needed to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.”

TVA continues to play a key role in strengthening workforce and economic development initiatives across the region. Community leaders also recognize the ongoing support of local power providers, including Louisville Utilities and East Mississippi Electric Power Association, which help make programs like these possible.

Community members are encouraged to attend and join in celebrating this meaningful investment in local students and the future of Winston County.
