A Rosie the Riveter from Louisville turns 105 March 28, 2026Oldest living Trojan of the Colored Schools

Marcella, a native of Louisville, MS, will be 105 years on March 28, 2026. She was a welder at the ship yard in Sausalito, California during World 11 which makes her a Rosie the Riveter. She will be participating in the Celebration of the National Rosie the Riveter Day on March 21, 2026 from 11 am – 2 pm at the National Park Visitor Education Center,

Marcella returned to Mississippi after the war, graduated from Mississippi Valley State University and taught school in Vaiden, and Pickens, Mississippi prior to moving back to California the second time to work for the Social Security Administration. Marcella presently lives in Oakland, CA near her daughter Angeline West, her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Marcella is the daughter of the late William James and Sarah Eichelberger She is the stepdaughter of Betsy AnnEichelberger. Her Siblings: Donia C.
