12th Anniversary of EF4 Tornado was Stormy

The thunderstorms on the 12th Anniversary of the devastation of the EF4 Tornado that hit Louisville April 28, 2014, was a reminder of how blessed we are in the recovery. Many came to rescue Louisville, MS. Winston Strong was organized to help bring all the volunteers and victims together. They did a miraculous job.

A day after the Anniversary, I am reminded of the Center Ridge Community, which I grew  in as a youth and came back 45 years later to become a community volunteer and leader there. The photos show how God blessed this community to come together for a fantastic recovery.

Rev. William Haynes and members of Center Ridge Baptist Church opened the church to the community to allow volunteers to serve food and give food and household good to those who were in need. Thank you Rev. Haynes and members. Thanks to Friends of Dean Park for getting food and supplies there from the Louisville Coleseium.  Also, thanks to Center Hill COGIC, Faith Beyond Wall Christian Center for providing food and supplies. There are many others, i.e. the young men who literally carried physically challenged people to safety and helped to clean up debris in Dean Park, churches and cemeteries.  Ken Holmes and friends come to mind. They are our future community leaders.

Condolences to all who lost their family members and/or friends.
