MISSISSIPPI BAND OF CHOCTAW INDIANS TO HOST WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EXHIBITION FEATURING MISSISSIPPI STATE AND LOUISIANA TECH

CHOCTAW, Miss. (October 6, 2026) – The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is proud to host a Division I women's basketball exhibition featuring Mississippi State University and Louisiana Tech University on Sunday, October 18, at 4 pm at Tushka Arena on the Choctaw Central High School campus.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door on game day or in advance through GoFan.co by searching "Choctaw Central High School”. Fans may enter Tushka Arena beginning at 3 pm, one hour prior to tipoff.

"This event reflects our commitment to supporting our students and investing in opportunities that inspire future generations," said Chief Cyrus Ben. "Our growing partnership with Mississippi State University continues to create meaningful opportunities for our Tribe and community, and we are proud to bring Division I women's basketball to Choctaw as part of that collaboration. As one of the first premier events held in Tushka Arena, this exhibition marks a special milestone for our community, and we look forward to welcoming many more athletic and community events in the future."

The event is part of a broader weekend of activities that will also include a golf tournament beginning at 9 am on Monday, October 19, at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club.

"We're grateful to Chief Ben and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians for welcoming our program to Choctaw Central," MSU Coach Sam Purcell said. "Our players love getting out and playing in front of the people of this state, and to be part of the first premier basketball game ever played in Tushka Arena makes it even more special. Louisiana Tech is a well-coached team that will test us, and that's exactly what we need before the season tips off. We hope the Choctaw Central students and the whole community come out, because this is going to be a fun afternoon of basketball."

Visitors are encouraged to make a weekend of their trip and enjoy the accommodations, dining, entertainment and amenities available throughout Pearl River Resort. To book a stay at Silver Star Hotel & Casino, Golden Moon Hotel & Casino or Dancing Rabbit Inn, call 1-866-447-3275.
